The Foods We Eat Play a Bigger Part Than You Think

I’m a very good believer in that we are the food we eat, and therefore we should treat our bodies to be a temple. Therefore only allowing good foods to go in the body. I really do believe this, as I do think we’re the ones causing most of the deaths and diseases in the world. Diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, etc etc. aren’t because you eat so much fast foods either. You see, the corporations are very smart when it comes to marketing. I’ll be perfectly honest, I made up my own mind on this years ago as I was researching different diet books and discovering which was helping me lose weight the most effective way.

I found a dietary plan that was written by a guy named Mark Hyman. It’s been published in several places around the internet and in various book format in the early 2000’s. The main thing about this plan is to eliminate as many packaged foods from your diet as possible. You’ll basically be eating more whole grain like breads and pastas and getting more protein from beans and nuts. And as far as sugars you should look to avoid the processed kind like soda pops and candy. The plan is basically to keep it as natural as possible and reduce your carbs as much as possible.

All of this is just common sense and very much similar to what any body builder would recommend. Thus you have fewer carbs and Hence you’ll more likely get leaner. I did the whole detox and fasting thing for a week and jumped back into a cheeseburger and fries practically eating myself clean the second day. But the body craved that cheeseburger and fries! As I always say, less is more, so I recommend eating larger portions more frequently. You’ll eat less and find it more enjoyable food because you won’t get bloated and your stomach will actually feel full.

I’m not saying you have to go live on KFC. I know that’s a lot of food for a kid to eat but you have to start somewhere. You can begin the process by making smarter choices about what you buy at the grocery store and making your own food. Then maybe you can eat out less.   •  Fast food. This is definitely a no-brainer. If you want to eat fast food you have to learn how to eat “real” food. Find a good cookbook and cook food that is in your food budget.
  • HFCS (high fructose corn syrup). This is corn sugar and it is in everything. You should make an effort to read your labels and limit your sugar intake.
  • Trans fat. This is not natural and it is very unhealthy. Limit it as much as possible and realize that this term on the package is not always accurate.
  • Artificial sweeteners. These include aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose. There are some low quality products on the market, but do your research and avoid these products.
  • Hydrogenated oils. These are not good for you. Put them in the trash can.

But in reality, 2-3 pounds of weight loss up to 2-3 months is very unhealthy for your body. And when you gain back all that weight, your body has been malnourished, and your body is malnourished because you have neglected it during the time when you were taking the pill, or eating the so-called magic diet food. These diets are detrimental to your weight-loss efforts.

3. Find a good gym.

Don’t go to the gym you have to pay, and leave without seeing the coach. There are plenty of other great options for taking exercise at the gym. Some are better than others, but if you want to lose weight, make sure your fitness routine include the following:

  • Strength training: You will build muscle, which will begin to burn fat. More muscle equals a much faster metabolism, which means your body will burn fat and calories even while you sleep!
  • Cardio / Interval training: Interval training has been shown to be the most effective method for cutting fat and losing weight in a short period of time.
