Happy New Year!

It's that time of year to renew your professional memberships. Thank you for your past membership, and support of the CANP. See the second page for a listing of what your support has accomplished, as well as what you can do to make licensure happen in Colorado . You want to be licensed, right? Well, now is our opportunity. Your help is needed for a successful 2007 bill in the Colorado legislature. Your membership alone gets you:

I hope that this letter finds you doing well, and I look forward to hearing from you. All my best wishes for your health, happiness, peace and prosperity this year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Justin Pollack (CANP secretary)

Next Meeting: March 11. 2 CEU's on Thermography by Kelly Parcell, ND

What is the CANP doing for you?

•  Compiled “new member welcome packets” to support new graduates and practicing ND's new to the state – with great resources, vendor discounts, practice tips. Low dues are available for ND's fresh out of school.

What can you do for your Association?

•  Ask your friends, family and patients to sign up as CANP supporters! Grow the capwiz list to at least 10,000 for later activation. Our goal was to have that many people on the list by the beginning of the 2006 legislative session (January 11), but better late than never. Have your contacts go directly to either http://capwiz.com/coanp/mlm/signup or www.coanp.org and sign themselves up. The first address puts them straight into the email sign up and will be less confusing. Contact Dee Koloski ND LAc (970) 667-7071 if you would like business cards that explain the capwiz sign-up to people. If you don't have an e-mail database of your patients, now is a perfect time to start one and let patients know what we are doing toward licensure.   •  Fundraise money for the coming legislative effort in 2007. We estimate it will cost between $140-170,000 to for a legislative attempt, and we need your help to be successful! Buy from CANP supporting vendors, ask local businesses and friends for donations, or hold a fundraising event. Join the fundraising committee, or share your ideas with Alissa Gadacz ND (303) 917-4470.   •  Become media savvy! Michelle Dally and Jenny Schley-Davies of Progressive Promotions are a PR firm that only deals with non-profits that they believe in. They have put together excellent talking points and media training exercises for us. Learn how to “stay on message” about such loaded topics as Brian O'Connell (who goes to trial soon) and the Health Freedom Movement. Read the manual and learn how to come across well to reporters.   •  Cultivate relationships. We need to network with MD's, DC's, DO's, as well as Clayton school certificate holders, and other alternative practitioners. Cultivate relationships with your local legislator(s).
